Vietnam’s first satellite goes into orbit

A French Arian-5 rocket was successfully launched into space from the European Union’s launch pad at Korou, French Guyana on April 18, carrying Vietnam’s first telecommunications satellite - Vinasat 1.

The US$200 million satellite, built by US giant Lockheed Martin, went into orbit at 132^o E – a position that Vietnam registered with the International Telecommunications Union in 1999. It has the capacity to provide around 120 digital television channels and tens of thousands of Internet data transmission and telephone channels. Its footprint will cover Vietnam, Laos, East Asia, East China, India, Australia, Japan and the Korean peninsular, and has a lifespan of 15 years.

After watching the live broadcast of the launch in Hanoi, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung praised the effective cooperation between the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and their foreign partners, namely Canada’s Telesat, the US’s Lockheed Martin and France’s Arianspace in implementing the project over the past 10 years.

According to Mr Dung, Vinasat –1 will help Vietnam provide telecoms, Internet, radio and television transmission services to far-flung areas and islands where the local residents find it difficult to get access to these services through the traditional transmitting technology. Notably, he said the satellite will play an important role in facilitating the development of the marine-based economy, forecasting natural disasters, supporting rescue work and disseminating information for fishermen.

The Vietnamese Government leader affirmed that together with the current international economic integration process, Vietnam considers telecommunications and information technology as a national spearhead industry, which has already received great support and substantial investment from the Government. He expressed his hope that the satellite will be managed and used effectively to contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.

Lockheed Martin is scheduled to hand over control of the satellite to Vietnam on May 24 and VNPT will begin to provide services from June 1. The satellite will be managed by a ground control station located in northern Ha Tay province’s Que Duong district, and an auxiliary control station in southern Binh Duong province.

*** The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Marshall Byrd, the General Manager of Lockheed Martin in Hanoi. Mr Dung said that the successful blast-off has opened up bright prospects for further cooperation between Vietnam and Lockheed Martin group as well as between Vietnam and the US.

The Vietnamese Government is actively implementing cooperation agreements signed between the two countries’ top leaders, particularly in the area of economics, trade, investment, science and technology and education, in the interest of the two nations, stressed Mr Dung.

Marshall Byrd said he was impressed by Vietnam’s rapid development and pledged to support the country’s developing IT industry.

Chúng mình yêu nhau từ đâu?

Anh vẫn nghe đời gọi tình yêu là duyên và nợ. Bật cười, duyên hay nợ? Nếu gọi yêu nhau là "duyên số" thì số phận đã đặt tình yêu vào tay ta, vậy là tự nhiên có mà không cần vun vén sao? Nếu gọi yêu nhau là "nợ" thì tình yêu cốt lõi cũng chỉ là chi trả chứ không còn là cảm xúc. Ví von thế mà làm gì?


Anh yêu em, không phải do duyên số, anh tìm đến và chúng mình yêu nhau. Mình đến bên nhau như lẽ tự nhiên của hai trái tim không ràng buộc. Em tháo từng mối chỉ kỷ niệm cho anh yên bình.

Anh vẫn nghe đời chia tình yêu thành những giai đoạn riêng rẽ. Khi say, khi cuồng, khi bình ổn, khi chán ngán nhau và rồi sẽ có khi tình yêu hóa thành cái nghĩa yêu đương để giữ tay nhau không rời. Mình đã qua khi say, khi bình ổn chưa em? Để khi cảm thấy bản thân cứ nhàn nhạt và nỗi lo sợ sự bay nhảy kéo phăng ta ra khỏi nhau…

Em ạ! Anh vốn là một kẻ đầy khiếm khuyết nhưng anh tin mình đủ tự trọng để biết sống hết mình vì em. Nếu thấy nhạt và thay đổi chính bản thân vì sợ nhàm chán không phải điều để hâm nóng tình yêu. Anh cần một người yêu mở lòng cho Anh, để anh được ân cần, để anh được yêu chính người đó. Anh không cần một chú tắc kè biết thay nhiều lớp áo.

Anh vẫn nghe đời rả rích những thay lòng và giọt nước mắt của kẻ đến người đi. Tình yêu không phải điều bất biến. Hôm nay, em yêu anh, ngày mai, chắc gì đã thế? Chẳng phải người ta yêu đủ để cưới nhau, rồi khi tình yêu đã cạn, người ta lại dắt nhau ra tòa để chia tay?

Buông ra thì dễ!

Tình yêu, vốn chẳng phải sợi xiềng sợi xích để trói đời ta vào với nhau. Cầm lên được, ắt sẽ bỏ xuống được. Ai chẳng khóc khi tình yêu rời xa mình, nhưng, ai sẽ thay lòng và ai sẽ bước đi khi tình yêu chưa tì vết? Những giữ gìn, những cố gắng chẳng phải để trái tim sẽ thuộc về nhau thêm một ngày. Và thêm một ngày... thế chẳng phải sẽ là "mãi mãi"?!

Nhiều lúc anh tự hỏi người ta cứ đến và đi trong đời nhau là để chọn lựa? Anh không ép buộc em yêu anh, em cũng không bắt anh thề thốt tiếng yêu đương. Mình đã chọn được bên nhau, đơn giản vậy thôi! Tình yêu vốn không phải điều chia sẻ để quơ tay cho mình có nhiều chọn lựa... vì... tình yêu khi đã bước đi, không thể quay lại nếu nhận ra chọn lựa thứ hai của mình là sai lầm.

Anh đã nói yêu em, và đó là lựa chọn cuối cùng của anh. Dù sau này ai đó có yêu anh nhiều hơn em, bởi vì, quan trọng nhất vẫn là, anh yêu em, đến chết vẫn yêu em!
